While the Canada Post strike has not been officially confirmed, we wanted to jump ahead and prepare our customers for what to expect while shopping with us during this time.
As of May 15th, 2025, we have temporarily suspended the use of Canada Post. During the last strike, there were many horror stories of orders going missing or having to be re-shipped with extra costs. Luckily we chose not to ship with them shortly before that strike so this didn't affect us. However, the strike did have a substantial impact financially that we were still trying to recover from, due to significantly higher shipping costs.
Over 47% of our orders (since the beginning of 2025) have been shipped via Canada Post due to the cost being much less than other couriers. As you can imagine, any small business that utilizes Canada Post will be severely impacted. Many times the flat fee we charge does not cover the full amount charged to us.
One of the other issues we encountered during the last strike was UPS refusing to accept more than 1 package per day. This seemed to be the same for other couriers in our area. If in the event you see that your tracking number has been created but not handed over/showing as in-transit, please do not be alarmed. This situation may have happened again and your order will be in transit asap!
Please read below regarding how we will be navigating this strike should it come to pass.
USA customers: Orders are still welcome and greatly appreciated from our American customers. Please note that until the strike is over, no orders will be shipped until the strike is officially confirmed to be over. As soon as the strike is over, your order will be shipped immediately.
Canadian Customers: Orders will be shipped via UPS or Purolator until the strike is confirmed to be over. Customers with PO boxes - If there is no alternative postal address that we can send you order to, your order wil be set aside and as soon as the strike is confirmed to be over, we will ship it to you immediately.
If you rely on community boxes (Canada Post are the only ones with access to these), we encourage you to get your parcel redirected to a pickup point as soon as you receive your tracking, especially if you believe your parcel may not stay securely on your porch while you are away.
