The Woman Behind the Business
Hello Crafty Nation!
My name is Lisa Gorman and I'm originally from the UK! Eastbourne, East Sussex to be exact 😉. I am a lover of animals, traveling, food (but I am also a very picky eater 🤣), and crafting (obviously, haha)
I am a pup mom to a crafty husky, who has just recently learned how to steal food from the counter and treats from the cupboard while we're out, and a boston terrier who enjoys sun tanning and snuggling in a mountain of blankets.
The Business She Created
When I was younger I didn't think I'd be one of those people who would create their own business but after going through multiple jobs that seemed to have a running theme of bad management, companies not sticking to what they supposably believed in, and always lacked the ability to need creativity in a way that challenged me, it was time for a big change.
I wanted to create a progressive business from the ground up.
I've always enjoyed crafts and I love even more what others can create with the materials they receive. One of the things I'm most passionate about is trying to make the world a better place, to reduce the amount of waste killing the eco-system and hurting animals. As Crafty Stars Studios grows, everything will be derived from these values.
Most, if not all supplies that this company sells will have the planet in mind. The products must be made from reused material, compostable, reusable, or recyclable.
Sadly, my customized Scoubidou keyrings are made of a plastic string but there are plans in the works to either find or create an alternative. Scraps will be used in future projects too! These keyrings will last you a very long time, my own one from childhood is almost 15 years old and still hanging around the apartment today!
As a last parting message, thank you so much for stopping by my business! I hope to have you all with me as I grow my business because I will definitely need the support! There are a lot of plans for the next few years and I can't wait to share them when Crafty Stars get to that point of its evolution!
You don't have to purchase in order to help a small business!
Word of mouth, sharing/reacting to posts, and recommending to friends as an option for their gift ideas or eco-friendly products help a lot too!
I love seeing reviews so if you've purchased from Crafty Stars lately - I would love to read about your experience! You can leave a message through Facebook, Google, or if you purchased through Etsy, you are able to through there. And if you think there should be any improvements, please share those also!
